Jeff Hardy: Jeff Hardy came out wearing an eye patch, continueing the “cherade” from last week where Hardy is faking an eye injury to poke fun at C.M. Punk. Hardy said last week in the middle of his tag team match with partner C.M. Punk, “tragedy struck.” They showed clips of Punk using an eye injury as an excuse not to tag in Hardy. Then later when Punk needed a tag, Hardy faked an eye injury as well. Hardy said what hurt him the most was that Punk didn’t take the time to find him and ask if he was okay. Hardy said unlike C.M. Punk, he does not fake injuries, kick referees in the back, or forfeit matches. Hardy said his eye injury is just as serious as Punk’s – and then took the patch off revealing no injury at all.
SINGLES MATCH
Kane defeated Jeff Hardy: Jeff Hardy hit a Twist of Fate and was going for a Swanton-bomb when he was distracted by C.M. Punk’s appearance on the stage. Kane choke-slammed Hardy off the top rope and scored the 1-2-3 to win!
VIGNETTE (WORD-UP): Cryme Tyme did their usual thing with Eve Torres. Today’s word of the day is “Bromance.” Citing Fred & Barny, Zack Efron & Leonardo DiCaprio, Sigfied & Roy, and the Hart Dynasty (Tyson Kidd & David Hart Smith). Eve said Shad & JTG are bromantically involved and they were like “no!!!” Jesse showed up doing his J-easy gimmick and Eve locked him in a cage..
BACKSTAGE SEGMENT
Theodore Long & John Morrison + Dolph Ziggler + Maria Kanellis: John Morrison is hanging out with Theodore Long trying to get a match with the winner of Punk vs. Hardy at Night of Champions. Long left the room and Dolph Ziggler popped out of the closet. Morrison said “it’s about time you came out of the closet” but then Maria came out and wished Ziggler luck with his match..
SINGLES MATCH
Dolph Ziggler defeated John Morrison:
VIGNETTE: Pretty Ricky is a new gimmick for R-Truth (aka Ron Killings) with some fake teeth and a goofy accent. It’s beyond terrible, but had some funny moments..
DIVAS TAG TEAM MATCH
Melina Perez & Eve Torres defeated Michelle McCool & Layla El: Melina pinned Layla to win the match. After the match, WWE Women’s champion Michelle McCool attacked Melina and they had an intense brawl around teh ringside area until Michelle broke loose and retreated backstage..
IN THE RING
World Heavyweight Champion C.M. Punk: Jeff Hardy joined in on commentary for the upcoming match, but C.M. Punk came out and cut a promo in the ring first. Punk pulled out some prescription eye drops saying he had to go to the doctor to legally obtain it. Punk said, unlike Hardy, that was the only foreign substance he will allow in his body. Punk said Jeff Hardy has two strikes, and he (Punk) has zero. Punk said he’s been suspended zero times, and been to a rehab facility zero times. Punk said Hardy’s chances of beating him at Night of Champions are ZERO.
NON (WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT) TITLE MATCH
World Heavyweight Champion C.M. Punk vs. The Great Khali w/Ranjin Singh ended in a No Contest: Jeff Hardy stuck around and joined Jim Ross & Todd Grisham on commentary, but was clearly offended by Punk’s comments in the previous segment.. The Great Khali looked like he was on track to win until Kane showed up with a steel chair. Ranjin Singh slid a chair into the ring and suddenly it was an even playing field. Kane whacked Khali first, but then Khali swatted the chair away on Kane’s second swing. Khali whacked Kane and he bailed out of the ring and quickly retreated..
TAG TEAM REMATCH
The Hart Dynasty (David Hart Smith & Tyson Kidd w/Natalya Neidhart) defeated Cryme Tyme (Shad Gaspard & JTG): They showed clips of Cryme Tyme winning their first match-up last week. So now the score is tied, and will there be a tie-breaker?
WWE INTERCONTINENTAL TITLE MATCH
Rey Mysterio defeated Chris Jericho to retain the WWE Intercontinental title: Unified Tag Team champion Chris Jericho came out and cut an arrogant heel promo, saying he would become the 10-time Intercontinental champion tonight. Mysterio retained his championship by defeating Jericho. After the match, Edge tried to sneak attack Mysterio, but Rey ducked and escaped harm. However, Dolph Ziggler ran down and hit Mysterio from behind and tossed him back into the ring. Edge speared Mysterio and assisted Jericho in giving him another Code-breaker! Edge & Jericho invited Ziggler in the ring and he gave Mysterio his finisher (whatever it is called)..

OPINIÃO GERAL:
Desta vez, antes de passar aos destaques positivos e negativos, gostaria de mencionar o segmento que envolveu o R-Truth, aka Pretty Ricky! Lembram-se quando o Trevor Murdock, após perder um combate, agarrou num microfone, subiu para cima da mesa dos comentadores, e começou, absolutamente do nada, a cantar uma música do Garth Brooks? Lembram-se da reacção do público, dos comentadores e até do próprio Cade, que sem dúvida sabia o que ia acontecer? Puro choque. Na altura, fiquei sem saber se aquilo tinha sido horrível ou uma das melhores coisas de sempre. Ainda hoje não sei. Bem, foi exactamente assim que me senti ao ver o segmento do R-Truth neste episódio do Smackdown! Como não sei se aquilo foi incrível ou terrível... limito-me a salientá-lo.
